Within this document when we use the term ‘In Water Activity’, we are referring to all activities from shore and boat Snorkelling, Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP), Scuba Diving, Kayaking to technical and cave diving. We support all these activities and believe with the proper conditions and training, all In Water Activities can be carried out safely.

WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
Jervis Bay Sea Sports is committed to ensuring and maintaining a safe working environment, in-store, on our vessels and out at sites that is suitable for all in-water activities.
This is implemented through our SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM and ensures that:

- all incidents are reported
- there is an effective process for collecting information on potential hazards
- there is an efficient method of assessing those hazards
- the system supports and provides for consultation with staff regarding those identified risks
- that staff are appropriately trained for their tasks,
- that staff are medically fit for their duties,
- there is a system of supervision of all activities
- that any potential hazard is treated in an appropriate manner
This treatment of risk extends to all customers taking part in In-Water Activities. All persons taking part In-Water Activities are required to read and sign appropriate health checks that they are physically prepared for the activity and also that they are properly qualified for the activity.
This is engrained within our Risk Waiver Process
Our IN-WATER HAZARD ANALYSIS AND TREATMENT PLAN has been created in consultation with staff and regularly assessed by them to provide a detailed step by step system of reviewing each of the potential risks of any in-water activity. It also ensures that staff have a firm and consistant set of guidelines to ensure that In-Water activities are only conducted within appropriate conditions and safety margins.

RISK MANAGEMENT STATEMENT
I, Morgan Andrews, Director of Jervis Bay Sea Sports Pty Ltd, am the Designated Person as per National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) and the WHS Act and associated Regulations.
I am also the principle controller of the business undertaking.
I have conducted an assessment of risks associated with Jervis Bay Sea Sports operations and its commercial operations as per the requirements of the WHS Act.
The Staff of Jervis Bay Sea Sports (known collectively as the Crew), have had the opportunity to review and comment on the draft of this document, the Safety Management Systems for the boats, the Safe Work Method Statements and our In-Water Hazard Analysis and Treatment Plan their feedback has been assessed and utilized as appropriate to form the final versions of these documents. These documents make up the core of our Safety Management Systems.
Dive Jervis Bay’s risk assessment and management process is modelled on requirements of AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 and a risk register has been established to record identified risks and summarise measures taken to eliminate or effectively control them.
The outcome of the assessments are included in the Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for the necessary operational tasks.
All current risks (At the time of writing) are recorded in the company's Safety Management Systems, and make up the findings in the Assessment of Risk. These have been individually assessed and controlled as possible and this process has been documented as part of our commitment to safety.
The on-going process for reporting hazards and incidents is included within the staff training processes and is full accepted as a shared responsibility by all staff. This forms the basis of the on-going review process which will occur in response to any incident or near miss.
Regular formal reviews will be undertaken on an annual basis and be carried out in consultation with the Crew as detailed within the Safety Management Systems for Jervis Bay Sea Sports.
